Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 21, 2026

Student Money Mentors LLC (“Student Money Mentors,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Overthink It, a dating-focused AI companion designed to help users think through dating situations, conversations, profiles, relationships, and other personal situations (“Service” or “Overthink It”).

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how it may be shared, how we protect it, and the choices you have regarding your information.

Overthink It is designed for users 18 years of age or older.

This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service and other policies that apply to the Service.

We aim to describe our practices accurately and in plain language. Because privacy and data practices can change as the Service develops, we may update this Policy from time to time.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated when you use the Service, and standard technical information transmitted through your device or the platform supporting the Service.

Account and profile information

What we collect: Your email address and account credentials when you register. Depending on the sign-in method and information you choose to provide, we may also collect your name, username, profile photo, and other profile information.

During onboarding, Overthink It may also collect information such as your communication preferences, dating goals, things that trigger overthinking, and other preferences you choose to provide.

Why we collect it: To create and administer your account, authenticate you, provide personalized features, and tailor the AI experience to your preferences.

How it is used: To identify you, sign you in, maintain your account, personalize your experience, provide features, maintain safety and moderation systems, and provide requested recommendations or analyses.

Where stored: The Service's database and authentication infrastructure.

Retention: Generally for as long as your account remains active, subject to the Data Retention and Deletion provisions below.

2. Dating, Case, and Personal Information

Overthink It allows you to create Cases and provide information about dating situations you want help thinking through.

What we collect may include:

  • descriptions of dating situations;
  • information about dates or relationships;
  • notes about conversations or interactions;
  • your observations, feelings, assumptions, and concerns;
  • information about what happened during a date;
  • your assessments of another person's behavior;
  • dating goals and preferences;
  • journal entries;
  • date debriefs;
  • information used to generate Dating Type readings;
  • information provided for Reality Checks and other analyses; and
  • other information you voluntarily submit as part of a Case or related feature.

Some of this information may be highly personal or sensitive. You are not required to provide information that you do not want to submit.

Why we collect it: To provide the dating analysis, reflection, organization, roleplay, recommendations, reports, and other features you request.

How it is used: To analyze your situation, generate observations and possible interpretations, identify patterns, provide suggestions, generate recommendations or draft replies, and provide other requested features.

Where stored: The Service's database and associated platform storage.

Retention: Generally until you delete the relevant content or your account, subject to the limitations described under “Data Retention and Deletion.”

3. Uploaded Images, Screenshots, and Files

Overthink It allows users to upload images and other files, including:

  • screenshots of text conversations;
  • photographs;
  • dating-profile screenshots or profile pages;
  • profile photos;
  • images used for profile analysis;
  • other images or files associated with Cases; and
  • attachments submitted through support or reporting features.

Although the Service is designed around dating-related content, users may technically upload other types of content. You are responsible for deciding what you upload.

Uploaded content may be processed using image recognition, OCR, AI analysis, or other technologies when necessary to provide the feature you request.

Information about other people

Uploaded content may contain personal information belonging to people other than you.

You are responsible for having the necessary permission, authorization, or other legal right to upload or share another person's private conversations, photographs, dating profiles, personal information, or other protected content.

You should avoid unnecessarily including identifying information about another person in uploaded material. Where appropriate, you should remove or obscure names, usernames, phone numbers, addresses, locations, employer information, and other identifying details.

Overthink It cannot independently verify whether you have obtained permission to upload content. We rely on your representations and may take action when content is reported or otherwise identified as violating our policies.

Why we collect uploaded content: To provide the analysis or other feature you specifically request.

Retention: Uploaded files and associated records are retained according to the Data Retention and Deletion provisions below.

4. AI Conversations and AI-Generated Content

Overthink It uses AI-assisted features throughout the Service.

These may include:

  • dating situation analysis;
  • conversation analysis;
  • Reality Checks;
  • Dating Type readings;
  • profile analysis;
  • green/ambiguous/red-flag observations;
  • recommendations and “next move” suggestions;
  • draft reply options;
  • low-pressure experiments;
  • roleplay;
  • weekly dating reports;
  • cross-Case pattern insights; and
  • other AI-assisted features introduced into the Service.

What we collect: Messages and information you provide to AI features, relevant Case information, uploaded content when you request its analysis, and AI-generated responses and recommendations.

Why we collect it: To provide the AI features you request and preserve relevant information within your account where the Service is designed to do so.

AI-generated content may be stored in your account so that you can review or revisit it.

5. AI Processing and Third-Party AI Providers

When you request an AI analysis, relevant information may be transmitted to a third-party AI provider through the Service's AI integration.

For example, when an analysis actually runs on uploaded content, the applicable uploaded content may be transmitted to a third-party AI provider through Base44's InvokeLLM integration.

Depending on the feature, information sent for processing may include:

  • text you submit;
  • screenshots or other uploaded images;
  • information extracted from uploaded content;
  • Case information;
  • relevant profile or preference information;
  • roleplay context; and
  • other information reasonably necessary to generate the requested response.

We seek to send only information reasonably necessary to provide the AI feature you request.

Student Money Mentors LLC does not use your Overthink It content to train its own AI models.

Where an AI provider offers an option to request responses rather than model training, we configure our AI integration to use that option where available.

However, we do not control the independent retention, security, or data-use practices of third-party AI providers. Whether a provider retains information you submit or uses it for its own purposes is governed by that provider's applicable policies, terms, and agreements.

We encourage you to review the privacy practices of any third-party AI provider involved in processing your information.

AI processing occurs when needed to provide the AI features you choose to use. We do not intentionally process your information through AI for unrelated purposes.

6. AI Limitations

AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading.

Overthink It's AI may provide observations, possible interpretations, recommendations, draft replies, or other suggestions, but it does not know another person's private thoughts or feelings and cannot reliably predict another person's future behavior.

The Service is designed to present uncertain interpretations as possibilities rather than facts.

AI output should not be treated as a definitive statement about another person's feelings, intentions, character, or future actions.

You remain responsible for deciding whether and how to act on information generated by the Service.

7. User-Generated and Community Content

Overthink It includes both private and social features.

Users may submit:

  • Discover posts;
  • anonymous polls;
  • comments;
  • Council and War Room messages;
  • votes;
  • reactions;
  • friendship requests;
  • shared Cases;
  • advice or responses;
  • journal entries;
  • roleplay transcripts;
  • reports; and
  • other user-generated content.

You control whether and where you share content through the available Service features, subject to the visibility rules of each feature.

Private content

Your personal Cases, Roleplay transcripts, Journal entries, and other content designated as private are intended to remain private unless you intentionally share them through a Service feature.

One-to-one sharing

When you share a Case with a particular friend, the Case may be accessible to that person according to the feature's functionality.

Friend Councils / War Rooms

When you invite people to a Friend Council or War Room, the content associated with that Council may be visible to the people you invite or otherwise authorize to participate.

A person may be able to participate through a shared invitation or token even if that person does not have a full Overthink It account.

Discover

Discover posts are presented anonymously to other users. Other users generally do not see the account identity associated with the author through the public Discover interface.

However, the post is not anonymous to Overthink It internally. We associate Discover activity with the authenticated account as necessary for account administration, moderation, safety, abuse prevention, reporting, and enforcement.

Users may vote, comment, react, or otherwise interact with content according to the functionality of the Service.

8. Information Created Through Social Interactions

When you interact with other users, we may collect and store information about those interactions.

This may include:

  • votes;
  • comments;
  • replies;
  • reactions;
  • messages;
  • @mentions;
  • friendship requests;
  • Council participation;
  • shared Case activity;
  • reports;
  • moderation actions; and
  • other interaction information.

We use this information to provide the social features you request, maintain records of interactions, moderate the Service, prevent abuse, investigate reports, and maintain platform safety.

9. User Reports and Safety Information

If you report another user, post, message, Case, or other content, we may collect information contained in your report and any supporting material you submit.

This may include:

  • your identity and account information;
  • the content being reported;
  • your explanation of the issue;
  • screenshots or other attachments;
  • information regarding moderation decisions; and
  • communications relating to the report.

We use this information to investigate reports, protect users, enforce our policies, prevent abuse, and maintain the safety and integrity of the Service.

10. Support Requests

If you contact us for support, we may collect:

  • your name;
  • email address;
  • support request;
  • selected category;
  • communications with our support team; and
  • attachments you voluntarily submit.

We use this information to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, provide assistance, and maintain appropriate support records.

11. Usage and Analytics Data

Overthink It uses a first-party analytics system to understand how the Service is used and to improve its functionality.

The Service's first-party analytics may collect:

  • event names;
  • a client-generated session identifier;
  • minimal metadata such as IDs or counts; and
  • other limited technical or event information needed to understand product usage.

The analytics system is designed not to store message content, personal information, secrets, or payment information as analytics event data.

Analytics information may be used for:

  • product improvement;
  • understanding feature usage;
  • troubleshooting;
  • engagement and retention analysis;
  • community and safety metrics;
  • AI feature usage analysis;
  • abuse prevention; and
  • internal operational purposes.

The analytics system is operated through the Service's own infrastructure rather than through third-party analytics vendors such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Heap, or similar services.

12. Technical Information

When you use Overthink It, standard technical information may be transmitted automatically by your device, browser, and the platform supporting the Service.

This may include information such as:

  • device type;
  • browser type;
  • operating information;
  • IP address;
  • authentication information;
  • timestamps;
  • service logs;
  • error information;
  • security information; and
  • other information normally generated when operating an online service.

We use this information to:

  • operate the Service;
  • authenticate users;
  • maintain security;
  • troubleshoot technical problems;
  • prevent abuse;
  • detect malicious activity;
  • maintain system stability; and
  • comply with legal obligations.

Some technical logging and infrastructure-level telemetry is provided by Base44 and the underlying hosting infrastructure.

13. How We Use Information

We use information we collect to:

  • provide, operate, maintain, and improve Overthink It;
  • create and administer accounts;
  • provide dating analysis and reflection tools;
  • analyze text, images, screenshots, and other content when requested;
  • provide AI-generated observations and recommendations;
  • generate roleplay and draft replies;
  • personalize the Service;
  • provide Cases, Journals, Dating Type readings, and other features;
  • operate Discover, Councils, friendships, and other social features;
  • facilitate sharing between users;
  • moderate content and investigate reports;
  • prevent fraud, abuse, harassment, and other harmful conduct;
  • maintain security and platform integrity;
  • provide customer support;
  • understand product usage and improve the Service;
  • communicate with you about your account or the Service; and
  • comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

We do not sell your personal information or User Content.

We do not use private user content for advertising purposes.

14. How We Share Information

We do not publicly disclose your private account information or private content except where you intentionally use a feature that makes content available to another person or audience, or where disclosure is otherwise permitted by this Policy.

We may share information with the following categories of recipients:

Service and infrastructure providers

We use service providers, including Base44 and providers supporting hosting, authentication, databases, file storage, security, and other infrastructure necessary to operate Overthink It.

AI providers

When you request an AI feature, information necessary to generate the requested response may be transmitted to applicable third-party AI providers through our AI integration, as described in the AI Processing section.

Other users

Information may be shared with other users when you intentionally use features such as:

  • Discover;
  • shared Cases;
  • Friend Councils;
  • War Rooms;
  • comments;
  • messages;
  • friendship features;
  • votes;
  • reactions; or
  • other social features.

The visibility of that information depends on the feature and the audience you select or authorize.

Legal and safety disclosures

We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with applicable law;
  • respond to legal process or government requests;
  • protect our rights;
  • protect the safety of users or others;
  • investigate fraud or abuse;
  • enforce our Terms of Service or other policies; or
  • detect, prevent, or address security or technical problems.

15. No Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information or User Content.

We also do not currently use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising through advertising networks or advertising pixels.

We do not currently use third-party advertising trackers such as Google Ads pixels, Meta/Facebook pixels, TikTok pixels, or similar advertising technologies within Overthink It.

If our practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy as appropriate.

16. Data Storage and Hosting

Overthink It is hosted on the Base44 platform infrastructure.

Structured information, such as account information, Cases, messages, votes, friendships, Council information, Journal entries, roleplay information, and other application records, is stored in the Service's database infrastructure.

Uploaded images and files are stored using the platform's file-storage infrastructure.

AI processing may involve transmitting information to third-party AI providers as described above.

Because these systems involve third-party infrastructure providers, information may be stored or processed in locations determined by those providers.

17. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the Service;
  • maintain your account;
  • provide features you request;
  • maintain security;
  • prevent fraud and abuse;
  • investigate reports;
  • resolve disputes;
  • comply with legal obligations; and
  • enforce our agreements.

The specific retention period may vary depending on the type of information and how it is used.

You may delete content through available Service functionality where provided.

18. Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and app-level information.

When you delete your account, the Service is designed to delete or remove the application records associated with your account, which may include:

  • Cases;
  • Case information;
  • friendships and connections;
  • Councils;
  • Council messages;
  • votes;
  • reactions;
  • Journal entries;
  • roleplay sessions;
  • Discover activity;
  • profile information; and
  • other application-level records associated with your account.

Important platform-level limitation

Some aspects of deletion are controlled by the underlying Base44 platform rather than directly by Overthink It.

In particular, uploaded files stored through the platform's file-storage systems and the underlying authentication account may be subject to Base44's platform-level deletion and retention practices.

Accordingly, we do not promise that every underlying file object, authentication record, or backup copy will be immediately and permanently erased at the moment you delete your account.

Underlying files, backups, authentication records, and other platform-level information may remain for a period determined by the applicable platform retention practices, security requirements, legal obligations, or backup processes.

We remove or delete application-level records within the Service according to our available deletion processes and applicable requirements.

If you need information about the exact retention period applicable to Base44-managed infrastructure, those periods may be determined by Base44's applicable policies and may not be controlled by Student Money Mentors LLC.

19. AI Provider Retention

Deleting information from your Overthink It account does not necessarily cause information previously transmitted to a third-party AI provider to be immediately deleted from that provider's systems.

Third-party AI providers control their own retention, deletion, security, and processing practices.

Where applicable, deletion requests to an AI provider may be governed by that provider's policies and agreements.

We do not represent that we can independently control or guarantee deletion from every third-party AI provider or its backups.

20. Security

We take reasonable measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

These measures may include access controls, authentication protections, platform security controls, and secure infrastructure provided by our service providers.

However, no method of transmitting or storing information over the internet is completely secure.

We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

Because Overthink It may process sensitive personal and dating-related information, we encourage you to carefully consider what you upload and avoid submitting information that you do not need to provide.

The FTC recommends that app developers use reasonable security practices appropriate to the sensitivity of the information they collect and maintain.

21. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Overthink It uses technical storage mechanisms, authentication tokens, local storage, and similar technologies necessary for the Service to function.

These technologies may be used to:

  • keep you signed in;
  • maintain authentication;
  • remember preferences;
  • maintain session functionality;
  • provide security; and
  • support normal application functionality.

We do not currently use cookies or similar technologies to track you across unrelated websites for behavioral advertising.

You can control or delete cookies and similar technologies through your browser settings. Disabling certain technologies may prevent some features from working correctly.

22. Communications

We may contact you regarding:

  • account activity;
  • authentication;
  • security;
  • service updates;
  • support requests;
  • policy changes;
  • safety matters; and
  • other transactional or service-related matters.

Where we send commercial or marketing email, we will comply with applicable law and provide an appropriate method to unsubscribe where required.

We will not treat an unsubscribe request as preventing necessary transactional or account-related communications.

23. Business Transfers

If Student Money Mentors LLC participates in a merger, acquisition, financing, sale of assets, reorganization, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

If required by applicable law, we will provide notice regarding a material change in how your information is handled.

24. Legal Disclosures

We may disclose personal information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

  • comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other legal process;
  • respond to a lawful government request;
  • protect the rights, property, or safety of Student Money Mentors LLC;
  • protect users or other individuals;
  • investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
  • enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements; or
  • address an emergency involving potential harm.

25. Data Breach Notification

If we experience a security incident involving personal information, we will investigate and provide notifications to affected individuals and authorities where required by applicable law.

Any required notification will be provided through appropriate means, which may include email, an in-Service notification, or another legally permitted method.

26. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information.

These may include the right to:

  • Access personal information we maintain about you;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Delete personal information, subject to applicable exceptions;
  • Request a copy or portability of certain information;
  • Withdraw certain permissions or choices, where applicable; and
  • Contact us regarding our privacy practices.

To exercise a privacy right, contact us at: about@studentmoneymentors.com

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

We may decline or limit a request where permitted or required by law, including where necessary to protect another person's rights, prevent fraud, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, or preserve information needed for a legitimate legal purpose.

27. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional privacy rights under applicable state privacy laws.

Depending on the law applicable to you, these rights may include rights to:

  • know or access categories of personal information collected;
  • obtain information about how personal information is used or disclosed;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • delete personal information;
  • obtain certain information in a portable format;
  • opt out of certain sales or sharing of personal information;
  • opt out of certain targeted advertising or profiling; and
  • receive equal treatment for exercising applicable privacy rights.

We do not sell your personal information.

We also do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Some state privacy laws contain exceptions, thresholds, and other requirements that determine whether a particular right applies.

To submit a privacy request, contact: about@studentmoneymentors.com

We will process applicable requests in accordance with the law that applies to you.

28. International Processing

Student Money Mentors LLC is based in the United States.

Your information may be stored or processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers or AI providers operate.

If you access Overthink It from outside the United States, your information may therefore be transferred to and processed in another country.

Those locations may have privacy laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.

29. Third-Party Services

Overthink It may depend on third-party services and infrastructure to provide its functionality, including hosting, authentication, storage, AI processing, and other technical services.

Third-party providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for privacy practices that are outside our control.

Where a third-party service receives information from Overthink It, its handling of that information may be governed by its own privacy practices and contractual obligations.

30. Children's Privacy and Age Requirement

Overthink It is intended only for users 18 years of age or older.

You must confirm that you are at least 18 when creating an account.

We do not knowingly permit children under 18 to create or maintain accounts.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18 in violation of this requirement, we will take reasonable steps to address the account and information as appropriate.

If you believe a person under 18 has created an Overthink It account or submitted personal information, please contact us at: about@studentmoneymentors.com

31. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the beginning of the Policy.

If we make a material change to how we collect, use, or disclose personal information, we may provide additional notice where required by applicable law.

Your continued use of the Service after an updated Policy becomes effective means that the updated Policy will apply to your continued use of the Service, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
