Terms of Service

Last Updated: August 21, 2026

By creating an account, accessing, or otherwise using Overthink It (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (these “Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

1. ELIGIBILITY

Overthink It is intended for adults 18 years of age or older. By creating an account or using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under applicable law.

You may not use the Service if you are under 18 or if your use of the Service is prohibited by applicable law.

2. PURPOSE OF THE SERVICE

Overthink It is a personal dating and relationship decision-support tool designed to help users think through dating situations, conversations, profiles, relationships, and related decisions.

The Service may provide tools for analyzing dating situations, reviewing conversation screenshots or dating profiles, identifying possible patterns or signals, separating observations from assumptions, exploring whether you are interested in another person, practicing conversations, generating possible replies, identifying dating patterns, and receiving recommendations or other feedback.

Overthink It is intended to provide a thoughtful, non-clinical second opinion. It does not claim to know another person's thoughts, feelings, intentions, motivations, or future behavior.

3. NO PROFESSIONAL, CLINICAL, OR RELATIONSHIP ADVICE

The Service provides general informational, reflective, and educational guidance. It is not a substitute for professional medical, mental-health, legal, or other professional advice.

Overthink It does not provide therapy, counseling, diagnosis, crisis intervention, or professional relationship counseling.

You are solely responsible for evaluating information provided through the Service and deciding whether, when, and how to act on it.

4. AI DISCLAIMER

Overthink It uses artificial intelligence and AI-assisted features to analyze information you provide and generate observations, interpretations, suggestions, recommendations, draft responses, roleplay interactions, reports, and other content.

AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, biased, or based on incorrect assumptions. AI may misunderstand context, tone, sarcasm, relationships, or other relevant circumstances.

AI-generated interpretations of another person's behavior or feelings are possibilities, not facts. The Service cannot reliably determine what another person thinks, feels, intends, or will do.

The Service may provide concrete recommendations, including suggested “next moves” or draft replies. These are suggestions only. You remain responsible for deciding whether to follow them.

The Service does not independently send messages, contact other people, freeze or modify relationships, or otherwise take actions on your behalf. Actions taken through the Service are initiated by you.

You should independently evaluate important information before relying on it.

5. THIRD-PARTY AI PROVIDERS

When you request an AI analysis, information necessary to provide that analysis may be transmitted to third-party AI providers through the Service's technology infrastructure, including Base44's AI integration.

Depending on the feature you use, this may include text, screenshots, photographs, dating profiles, conversation transcripts, case information, journal information, or other content you choose to submit.

Third-party AI providers process information according to their applicable terms, policies, and technical arrangements. Additional information about AI processing, data practices, and applicable providers is described in our AI Use & AI Privacy Notice and Privacy Policy.

You should not submit information to the Service that you are not authorized to provide to the Service or have processed by third-party service providers.

6. ACCOUNTS AND REGISTRATION

An account is required to use the core features of the Service.

You may register using email and password or an available third-party authentication method such as Google sign-in. You may be required to verify your email address or otherwise complete account verification.

You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account information reasonably current.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity occurring under your account. You may not share your account, transfer it to another person, or knowingly permit another person to access your account except through features expressly designed for that person's participation.

7. USER CONTENT

The Service allows you to submit, upload, create, store, post, or otherwise provide content, including:

  • dating profiles and profile photographs;
  • screenshots and photographs of conversations;
  • case descriptions and notes;
  • journal entries;
  • roleplay transcripts;
  • council messages;
  • posts and polls;
  • comments, replies, and reactions;
  • information about dating experiences and relationships; and
  • other text, images, files, or materials you choose to provide.

All such material is referred to as “User Content.”

You are solely responsible for your User Content and for the consequences of submitting, sharing, publishing, or otherwise making it available through the Service.

8. YOUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR USER CONTENT

You represent and warrant that, with respect to User Content you submit:

  • you own or otherwise have all necessary rights, licenses, consents, and permissions to submit and use it;
  • your submission and use of the content does not violate another person's privacy, confidentiality, publicity, intellectual-property, contractual, or other legal rights;
  • you have appropriate permission before uploading or sharing another person's private conversations, photographs, dating profiles, or personal information;
  • you will not upload or share content that you are prohibited from disclosing;
  • the content is not unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, threatening, harassing, abusive, hateful, discriminatory, sexually exploitative, or otherwise prohibited by these Terms;
  • the content does not contain malware, viruses, spyware, malicious code, or other harmful components; and
  • the content does not intentionally impersonate another person or mislead others about the identity or affiliation of the person submitting it.

You are particularly responsible for protecting the privacy of people whose information appears in screenshots, photographs, profiles, or other materials you submit.

Where practical, you should remove names, usernames, photographs, phone numbers, addresses, locations, employer information, and other identifying information before uploading another person's content.

9. DATING-RELATED AND PRIVATE CONTENT

Because Overthink It is designed around real dating situations, User Content may contain highly personal or sensitive information.

You may not use the Service to expose, shame, threaten, harass, stalk, blackmail, manipulate, or target another person.

You may not upload or share another person's private content without the necessary permission or legal authorization.

You may not use the Service to distribute non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual exploitation material, or private information for the purpose of harming, humiliating, threatening, or exposing another person.

The fact that a conversation, profile, photograph, or other information is accessible to you does not necessarily mean that you have permission to republish or share it.

10. SOCIAL AND COMMUNITY FEATURES

The Service includes optional social features, including Discover posts, anonymous polls, comments, reactions, friendship features, case sharing, Friend Councils, War Rooms, direct interactions, and other community features.

Some content may be publicly visible within the Service, while other content may be visible only to users you specifically invite or select.

You are responsible for understanding the audience selected when you share content.

Anonymous presentation does not mean that content is exempt from these Terms. You may not use anonymity or pseudonyms to evade these Terms, impersonate another person, harass others, or engage in unlawful conduct.

Users may report content or other users for safety, privacy, abuse, or other violations.

11. FRIEND COUNCILS AND SHARED CONTENT

Some features allow you to invite other people, including people who do not maintain an Overthink It account, to participate in a shared Council or War Room through a share link or token.

When you intentionally share a Case or other content with another person, that person may be able to view and interact with the information included within the shared feature.

You are responsible for confirming that you are authorized to share the information and that you understand the audience who will receive it.

Content contributed by another participant remains that participant's User Content. You do not acquire ownership of another user's contributions merely because those contributions appear within your Case, Council, or shared discussion.

12. PROHIBITED USES

You may not use the Service to:

  • violate any applicable law or regulation;
  • harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or abuse another person;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
  • expose or distribute another person's private information without authorization;
  • distribute non-consensual intimate imagery or sexually exploitative material;
  • facilitate fraud, extortion, blackmail, or other unlawful conduct;
  • infringe or misappropriate intellectual-property rights;
  • upload malware, malicious code, or harmful files;
  • interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data;
  • scrape, harvest, or collect information about users without authorization;
  • use the Service to generate or distribute deceptive or harmful content;
  • use the Service to target another person for harassment or retaliation;
  • circumvent account, safety, moderation, or access controls; or
  • otherwise use the Service in a manner inconsistent with its intended purpose or these Terms.

13. COMMUNITY STANDARDS AND MODERATION

We do not pre-screen all User Content and cannot guarantee that all content will comply with these Terms.

We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to review, investigate, remove, restrict, or disable access to User Content or accounts when we believe it is necessary to protect users, the Service, or third parties, or to enforce these Terms and our other policies.

We may take action based on reports, automated signals, investigations, legal requirements, or other information available to us.

We may suspend or terminate accounts for serious or repeated violations of these Terms or applicable policies.

14. REPORTING SAFETY CONCERNS

If you believe that User Content or conduct violates these Terms, threatens another person, infringes intellectual-property rights, or otherwise presents a safety concern, you may report it through the reporting features provided by the Service or through the contact information listed in our Safety & Reporting policy.

Reports should include enough information for us to understand and investigate the concern.

We may take action in our discretion and as permitted or required by applicable law.

15. OWNERSHIP OF USER CONTENT

You retain ownership of your User Content.

By submitting User Content to the Service, you grant Student Money Mentors LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, and otherwise use that User Content solely as reasonably necessary to operate, provide, maintain, secure, and improve the features of the Service that you use.

This license includes transmitting applicable User Content to third-party service providers, including AI providers, when reasonably necessary to provide a feature you request.

This license does not give Student Money Mentors LLC ownership of your User Content and does not authorize unrelated commercial exploitation, sale, or licensing of your User Content.

Where technically and operationally applicable, the license ends when your User Content is deleted or your account is closed, except to the extent continued processing or retention is reasonably necessary for backups, security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or other purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

16. CONTENT REMOVAL AND ACCOUNT DELETION

You may delete User Content or request deletion of your account through available Service features or by contacting us.

App-level records associated with your account may be deleted through the Service's deletion processes. Certain underlying storage, authentication, backup, or infrastructure records may be managed by third-party platform providers and may be subject to their retention and deletion procedures.

Accordingly, we do not promise that every copy of every item will be immediately and permanently removed from every backup or infrastructure system.

Our Privacy Policy and Data Retention & Deletion policy provide additional information about deletion and retention.

17. COPYRIGHT AND DMCA

We respect intellectual-property rights and expect users to do the same.

If you believe that User Content available through the Service infringes your copyright, you may submit a copyright takedown request to our designated copyright contact.

A valid notice should include:

  • your full contact information;
  • identification of the copyrighted work;
  • identification of the allegedly infringing material and enough information for us to locate it;
  • a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized;
  • a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner; and
  • your physical or electronic signature.

We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing material while a complaint is investigated and may terminate accounts of repeat infringers where appropriate.

This contact is provided for copyright complaints and is not necessarily a registered DMCA agent.

18. OUR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Service, including its software, design, interface, branding, graphics, features, text, and other materials provided by Student Money Mentors LLC, excluding User Content, is owned by or licensed to Student Money Mentors LLC and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for its intended personal purposes.

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by law or with our written permission.

19. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The Service may interact with or depend upon third-party websites, authentication providers, AI providers, hosting providers, storage providers, analytics providers, or other services.

Third-party services are not controlled by Student Money Mentors LLC. Their availability, functionality, privacy practices, and terms may differ from ours.

Your use of third-party services may be subject to those providers' own terms and policies.

We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, availability, or policies of third-party providers to the extent permitted by law.

20. NO GUARANTEE OF ACCURACY OR RESULTS

Overthink It is designed to help you think through dating situations. It cannot guarantee that its observations, interpretations, recommendations, roleplay responses, or other outputs will be accurate or useful.

Dating and interpersonal situations are inherently uncertain. A recommendation that seems reasonable based on the information provided may be inappropriate when additional facts or circumstances are known.

You remain responsible for your decisions, communications, relationships, and conduct.

21. FREE SERVICE AND FUTURE PAID FEATURES

Overthink It is currently provided without requiring users to pay for access to the Service.

We may introduce subscriptions, purchases, premium features, or other paid services in the future. If we do, applicable pricing, billing, cancellation, and refund terms will be disclosed before you are charged and may be incorporated into these Terms or provided in separate terms.

22. BETA AND EXPERIMENTAL FEATURES

We may offer features identified as beta, preview, experimental, or similar.

Such features may be incomplete, contain errors, change without notice, or be discontinued at any time. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses arising solely from your use of beta or experimental features.

23. AVAILABILITY AND FORCE MAJEURE

We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

We may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue portions of the Service at any time.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, internet or telecommunications failures, power outages, cyberattacks, governmental actions, or failures of third-party service providers.

24. ACCOUNT SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION

You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, if we reasonably believe you have:

  • violated these Terms or another applicable policy;
  • engaged in illegal, fraudulent, abusive, threatening, or harmful conduct;
  • violated another person's privacy or intellectual-property rights;
  • uploaded prohibited or infringing content;
  • attempted to compromise the security of the Service;
  • interfered with the operation of the Service; or
  • otherwise used the Service in a manner that creates significant risk to users, third parties, or the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including provisions concerning User Content, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, and interpretation.

25. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

Student Money Mentors LLC disclaims warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and reliability.

We do not warrant that:

  • the Service will meet your expectations;
  • AI-generated content will be accurate or complete;
  • the Service will always be available or secure;
  • dating or relationship outcomes will improve as a result of using the Service; or
  • User Content or interactions with other users will be safe, accurate, or reliable.

Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.

26. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Student Money Mentors LLC and its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service or these Terms.

Without limiting the foregoing, we are not responsible for:

  • decisions you make based on AI-generated content;
  • relationship, dating, or interpersonal outcomes;
  • User Content;
  • conduct of other users;
  • disputes between users;
  • third-party AI outputs or services;
  • unauthorized disclosure of information caused by a user's own sharing decisions;
  • inaccuracies or omissions in AI-generated content; or
  • loss of content resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Student Money Mentors LLC's total aggregate liability for claims arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid to Student Money Mentors LLC for the Service during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Because the Service is currently free, if you have not paid any amount for the Service, Student Money Mentors LLC's liability will be limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

27. INDEMNIFICATION

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Student Money Mentors LLC and its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and service providers from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to:

  • your violation of these Terms;
  • your unlawful conduct;
  • your misuse of the Service;
  • your User Content;
  • your infringement or misappropriation of another person's rights;
  • your violation of another person's privacy or confidentiality;
  • your use of another person's content without appropriate authorization; or
  • unauthorized use of your account.

Student Money Mentors LLC may assume exclusive control of the defense of any matter subject to indemnification, and you agree to reasonably cooperate with that defense.

28. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES

These Terms are intended to be governed and interpreted under applicable law of the United States and the applicable laws governing the relationship between you and Student Money Mentors LLC.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in accordance with applicable U.S. federal and state law, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection, jurisdiction, arbitration, or venue requirements that cannot legally be waived.

Student Money Mentors LLC may later designate a specific governing state and venue through an updated version of these Terms.

29. ASSIGNMENT

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights or obligations under them without our prior written consent.

We may assign these Terms, in whole or in part, without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, corporate reorganization, or similar transaction.

30. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable or, if modification is not possible, severed.

The remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

31. NO WAIVER

Our failure or delay in enforcing any provision of these Terms does not waive our right to enforce that provision later.

A waiver must be made in writing and applies only to the specific instance for which it is given.

32. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, AI Use & AI Privacy Notice, Community Guidelines, Safety & Reporting Policy, Copyright/DMCA Policy, Age & Child Safety Policy, Data Retention & Deletion Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, Third-Party/Subprocessor information, and any other policies expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the agreement between you and Student Money Mentors LLC regarding your use of the Service.

33. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date and may provide additional notice when required by law or when we determine that a change is material.

Your continued use of the Service after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

If you do not agree to revised Terms, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.
