Question 1

What does Overthink It actually do?

Accepted Answer

You paste a text exchange, upload a screenshot, describe a date, or run a profile through a read. It splits what's actually there from what's a maybe and what you're guessing at — then suggests what you could do next. It does not claim to read anyone's mind.

Question 2

Who is it for?

Accepted Answer

Adults 18 and over. It's built for the chronically curious and the mildly anxious — people who reread a text or replay a date and want a second read before they react.

Question 3

Is this just ChatGPT with a different skin?

Accepted Answer

No. A general AI assistant will answer if you paste a text, but it won't separate what it can know from what it's guessing unless you keep re-prompting, and it can't bring your friends into the same read.

Question 4

Does the AI tell me what someone is thinking?

Accepted Answer

No — and that's on purpose. It calls out what the evidence can't establish instead of guessing. The goal is a clearer read, not a confident-sounding one.

Question 5

How is this different from asking my group chat or Reddit?

Accepted Answer

Your friends and a crowd can be great — but opinions get mixed with certainty, and you end up pasting screenshots into five chats. Overthink It keeps the AI read and your friends' read in one private War Room, with facts and guesses labeled.

Question 6

Can I delete my data or close my account?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Delete a Case, close your account, or read our Data Retention & Deletion Policy anytime from the footer.
